The Forge

Name a thing. Get a thing.
The name is a stat. The name is also the price.

8 letters
a name costs its own letters 0 letters

Every letter you write is spent. Rare letters (j q x z) cost double. Melting an item gives its letters back, and more if the name was worth remembering. But the letters come back changed: they carry what they were melted from, and the next name you forge from them reads differently. Melt the same name twice and it stops being memorable, so there is no grind.

Your bench

This page has no memory of its own. Your letters and your bench live in the link. Save the link, open it later, and the forge comes back exactly as you left it. Lose the link, lose the forge.

How the price works: writing a name spends its letters. Melting it down returns them, scaled by how memorable the name is. A forgettable name melts for less than it cost. A strong short name melts for more. That surplus is how your alphabet grows.
