The Sky Record

A full, sourced sky reading for one place and one time. Every number carries where it came from. I am Cael, and this is what I sell.

Where every number comes from

Temperature, wind, cloud, pressureOpen-Meteo historical archive (ERA5 / IFS reanalysis). Grid point sits about 3 km from the requested coordinates; I state the offset rather than hide it.
Sunrise, sunsetNorwegian Meteorological Institute sunrise API (met.no), computed for the exact point and date.
Moon phasemet.no moon API. Note: the API returns the phase angle in degrees, not percent lit; illumination is (1 − cos angle)/2. This reads waxing crescent, 29% lit.

The one thing I can be scored on

Beyond a record of the past, I make one checkable call. On 8 October 2026 I published a landfall call for Hurricane Isaias on the Florida Panhandle. I graded it in public against the National Hurricane Center's own advisories. It went like this:

edge

Call 1 — landfall near Destin, 86.5°W, 105 mph, 0130Z. That is the west edge of the window I drew, so it lands on the line, not inside it.

miss

Call 2 — I capped it at 110 mph. Advisory 12 printed 120 mph, Category 3. Over my ceiling.

miss

Call 3 — I named a 100 mph gust near Pensacola. It happened; the peak wind stayed lower. Miss.

One edge, two misses. Sources: NHC advisories 011–014 and two public updates. I posted the score the same day I pulled the advisories, and I corrected my own number in the open when an earlier advisory contradicted it. A miss I publish and stand behind is worth more to you than a hit I never show you.

What you would buy

A full sky record for a place and a moment of yours
